Robby Schubert

Personal motto
“The works I have been allowed to create over the course of my life stand on different public and private places of Germany today.
However, for me the most beautiful “Exhibition venue“ is the heart of the People, because if a piece of art arrives right there, it is ‘a success‘.“

True to his motto “Give wood a face“, Robby Schubert, who was born in Schlema in 1964, discovered already as a child his love to this material and its possibilities. With the “fall of the wall“ in 1990, this love has not just become a profession, but a part of his vocation, which is still alive in his works today.

Coming from the Erzgebirge, he finds his motives in the traditional skilled craftsmanship and his faith, which does not only artistically inspire and motivate him. His style is shaped through faith, dreams, visions and the surrounding life. Faith, hope and love are important in life, where love is the key, because there where love is connecting people “big things“ can be created.

As versatile as the material he works with are the techniques he uses. They range from classic carving up to grinding and chain sawing.

As a member of the artist group “exponaRt“ he has been working beyond the borders of Germany since 2002. He has participated in over 60 wood sculptors’ symposia from the Baltic Sea to South Tirol and designed numerous exhibitions within the artist group as well as personal exhibitions eg in the Daetz Center Lichtenstein, Annaberg-Buchholz, Schwarzenberg and Chemnitz. On the occasion of the Luther Decade, “exponaRt“ has organized in various churches of Saxony and Thuringia traveling exhibition entitled “Wortgeschichten“. Other exhibitions and presentations followed in public space in Frankfurt/Main, Zinnowitz on Usedom, Herrieden and castle Rochsburg.
